Fourdesk vs Tradervue
Tradervue — one neutral sentence describing Tradervue Fourdesk is the institutional desk structure for retail traders: one journal read by an Analyst, Coach, Psychologist, and Risk Manager.
Tradervue is the long-standing journal. Fourdesk adds the layer that acts during the session.
Choose Tradervue if…
Where they genuinely fit better. We’d rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one.
- —TODO-JO-VERIFY: longevity & ecosystem — if you value a mature, established tool with a track record
- —TODO-JO-VERIFY: broker/import breadth — if it imports from more of your platforms today
- —TODO-JO-VERIFY: price simplicity — concede if their plan structure suits you better
- —TODO-JO-VERIFY: anything else it genuinely does better — concede it plainly
Choose Fourdesk if…
- →You want the desk to step in — tilt alerts and cooldowns during the session, not just a report after it.
- →You want the psychological layer: a pre-session check-in, and your state tracked against your P&L.
- →You want per-account risk limits with cooldowns, not stats that only get displayed.
- →You want per-setup expectancy computed on your own trades, instead of a generic AI chat.
- →You want a genuinely free journal (10 entries, no card) and simple pricing — $9 Analyst / $29 Pro.

Autopsy vs. intervention
Most trading journals are autopsies. You log the trade, and later — that night, that weekend — the stats tell you what went wrong. That review matters, and the good ones do it well. But the loss already happened. The revenge trade already fired. The report is a coroner’s note: accurate, and too late to change the outcome it describes.
Fourdesk is built for the other side of the trade — before and during. A check-in before the session, a cooldown when you’re tilting, a hard number on how much drawdown you have left. The analysis still happens afterward, but the point is to change the trade while it’s still yours to change. Same data; a different moment of contact.
Questions
Fourdesk has a free tier — 10 journal entries and 5 analyses a month, no card.
Not yet — CSV import from MT4, MT5, Tradovate, and NinjaTrader today; broker auto-sync is on the roadmap with no date promised.
TODO-JO-VERIFY: whether Tradervue's export maps into Fourdesk's importer is UNTESTED — verify and document, or say untested.
It works before and during the trade — pre-session check-in, tilt cooldowns, drawdown limits — not only the after-the-fact journal and stats.
